Over 150 students from schools across Cheshire attended this years’ Cheshire Schools Book Award celebration evening held in our Theatre.

The Cheshire Schools Book Award is an annual award which encourages students to read some of the latest teenage fiction and vote for their favourite book. The shortlisted books this year were – ‘Stay Where You Are and Then Leave’ by John Boyne, ‘Haunt: Dead Scared’ by Curtis Jobling, ‘More Than This’ by Patrick Ness, ‘Half Bad’ by Sally Green, ‘A Boy Called Hope’ by Lara Williamson, ‘Noble Conflict’ by Malorie Blackman and ‘The Wall’ by William Sutcliffe.

Authors Sally Green and Curtis Jobling attended the evening, talking about their books and answering questions from students. The winner of the Cheshire Schools Book Award was also announced – congratulations to Sally Green!

Many thanks to all who attended and made the evening a success. We will look forward to hosting next years’ Book Award once again.

Thank you to Miss Heaven, our brilliant librarian who brings so many opportunities to our students.
