Monday 8th February 2016 – the day started with an early 7am breakfast.  After getting all our ski gear ready with the kit buddies making sure nothing was forgotten, we were ready to set off for the slopes by 8am, a small feat in itself!

We had a short coach journey to Ski Fit to gather our boots, ski’s and poles and then hopped onto the gondola which took us up the mountain to Pila, where we would be skiing. The groups all met with their instructors who took them up the ski lift to the beginner section. They had a couple of hours of learning the basics and then a spot of lunch on the slopes before returning to lessons to finish off the afternoon. After 4 hours of instruction, there were some sore feet and shins and some very sweaty children after being put through their paces in the glorious Italian sunshine. All students returned with a smile on their faces and snow in their tops after a snowball fight at the meet up point! We did a quick detour to the supermarket before returning to the hotel for a very quick freshen up before going out to the local bowling alley.

All in all, a very productive day which ended not with tired students, but very lively ones. Let’s just hope Mr Freeman and I will manage to calm them down long enough to get a decent night’s sleep!!
