Mrs Charity organised for Dr Caroline Millman from Manchester University to work with our KS3 and KS4 pupils Wednesday 24th February.  Dr Millian is completing research into food safety education in particular Campylobacter and food poisoning.

Dr Millman worked with several groups during the day, they assessed their food safety skills using a website designed at Manchester University.  She then took them through the causes of food poisoning and how they could share knowledge with their parents.  They played games including top trumps bacteria and viruses.  Much fun was had by all.

This is second time they have been into the academy and she was really impressed with our facilities, the behaviour of the students and the amount of knowledge our students already had about food safety.  We will be welcoming her again in the near future.
