Some subjects require Controlled Assessments, which provides an opportunity to do some independent research into a topic.

The regulations state that:

  • The work which you submit for assessment must be your own.
  • You must not copy from someone else or allow another candidate to copy from you.
  • If you are found to have broken the regulations you will be reported to the awarding body who will decide what to do. They may give you zero marks, or even disqualify you from the subject.
  • Remember – it’s your qualification so it needs to be your own work.
  • Deadlines will be set by your teacher for completing your assessment.
  • Please make sure you stick to these in order for your teacher to be able to mark your work accurately.
  • If you are not happy about the mark you receive talk to your teacher in the first instance. They will be able to tell you about the Internal Appeals procedures if necessary.
